SCD, It began 3 years ago as a challenge for a personal remodel project. I was in the market for a countertop product, but granite was too pricey and laminates were too plain. A friend introduced me to concrete countertops in his home and from this the dream began.
With a book, DVD, and a lot of determination, the first product was completed, heavy and messy, but completed. With pride on the line, the countertops were installed. See, as far as the Midwest, concrete countertops were something not many people knew about and those who did had just briefly seen them on a TV remodel show. Reviews came in on the positive side, I was happy to see that family and friends liked what I had made, but I was not done yet!
The next year or so I began researching mixes and sealers and began talking to and educating people on the product, pro's and con's, and the benefit in the design of concrete. From this grew a hobby that then translated into family and friends projects for the next year or so to see if concrete surface would be excepted in Central Illinois.
From a challenge to a hobby and now a trained artisan in concrete SCD take's great detail in every job. Through training with some of the best artisans in the industry, trial and error, networking, and researching very product available, I am confident that SCD will meet all your expectations.
