  • Why concrete?

    Concrete is a warm, natural looking material. Concrete is for those individuals looking for a one of a kind product that is hand crafted. Unlike its competition, concrete is not shinny, perfect or limited to mining. It's also not made of plastic or sold in the home centers. Simply put, each piece is both unique, personal and Eco-Friendly, and no two pieces are alike.

  • Will my concrete countertops crack?

    Hairline cracks can occur. These are nonstructural and add to the natural beauty of concrete. With proper mix design and proper reinforcement, cracks should never happen.

  • Will my concrete countertops stain?

    Simple Concrete Design uses only the best sealers and procedures. Are sealers are both used by the top artisans around the country as well as tested by best in the industry. Our sealer is environmentally/Food safe and VOC compliant. For most applications, our sealers carry a 15 year warranty. Available in both gloss, matte, and non-slip.

  • Will my cabinets hold the weight of concrete?

    Concrete weighs approximately 22 to 25 lbs. per square ft. This based off a 1 1/2" to 2" pour. Standard cabinets will support the weight of your concrete project.

  • Can I cut on my countertop?

    No, we suggest a cutting board. Knifes don't hurt the concrete, but hurts the sealer. Knife marks can cause both sealer failure and or stains. *Ask us about inlaying a custom bamboo or maple cutting board in your next project!

  • How do I clean my countertop?

    We suggest Windex or a simple mild non abrasive soap for daily cleaning. We have found that water in a simple spray bottle also works for a quick clean and or wipe down. Concrete countertops clean just as easy as any other countertop on the market. Also suggested is a yearly wax.

  • Can I put hot pans on the countertops?

    No, It's best to use hot pads or have trivets installed within the countertops. This prevents hot pans from scorching or melting the sealer. Most trivets are made of stainless steel, copper, or aluminum. *These trivets can be added at minimal cost and makes your project one of a kind!.

  • Do concrete countertops work outside?

    Yes, concrete countertops are becoming very popular for outdoor use, most around outdoor BBQ's, fireplaces and kitchens.

  • Price, Concrete, Laminate, Granite?

    One of the biggest questions asked. Laminate is defently the cheaper per sq. ft. price, starting at around $10 a sq. ft. Concrete and Granite are similar in price both ranging from approx $50 per sq. ft. up to $120 per sq. ft. Concrete pricing varies in the thickness, color and the design difficulty.
